Elizabeth (Bette) Jane Simms, age 92 passed away Thursday March 9, 2017, at New Life Hospice in Lorain, after a short illness. She was born February 14, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, Bette resided in Oberlin , Ohio , after her marriage to Donald Simms , where they raised their two sons. Bette was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin, a member of the Oberlin Farm Women's Club, and the Secret Sisters of Oberlin Road of which she was co-founder. Bette loved ballroom dancing, making crafts, cooking and gardening. She was a poll worker for the Board of Elections for many years. Survivors include her two sons Wayne (Leah) Simms and James (Joanne) Simms; four grandchildren Jake, Marshall, Jon, and Christina as well as three great-grandchildren Aidan, Ryleigh and Emma; brother Ray Repasky of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Simms; parents John and Mary Repasky and infant brother John. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
