Elizabeth A. "Betty" Banks (nee: Horvath) 90, of Grafton passed away Sunday March 5, 2017 at Lake Pointe Health Center in Lorain following a long illness. She was born February 14, 1927 in Lorain. Betty was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She cherished time with family and friends. Betty enjoyed fishing in Canada during the summer months, and wintering in Florida. She also liked knitting, crafts, collecting souvenir spoons, and bowling. Survivors include two sons; Earl Banks (Debbie) of Grafton, Richard Banks (Elaine) of Port Clinton, two grandsons; Mark and Eric Banks, a great grandchild; Damien Banks, a brother; Frank Horvath (June) of Vermilion. Betty was preceded in death by her husband; Vincent "Skip" Banks, her parents; Thomas and Mary (nee: Rosta) Horvath, three sisters; Helen Majkut, Mary Kobylka, Yolanda Oswalt, three brothers; Thomas, Louis, Steve Horvath. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Wednesday March 8, 2017 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Thursday March 9, 2017 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel 708 Erie St. Grafton. Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor will be the Celebrant.
