Elizabeth J. "Betsy" Koon (nee: Hammond), 70, of Grafton, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born in Elyria on November 1, 1954 to parents Stanley and Helen (nee: Schmitz). Betsy graduated from Elyria High School and later worked in customer service at Invacare. Betsy will be remembered as a great sister and aunt. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her dog, Milo and her two cats. Survivors include her sisters, Barbara Curtis, Mary Ellen Seni, Susan Mazzola; brothers, Robert and William Hammond; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary in 2010 and her sister, Jeanne Anderson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 5:30 p.m. at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria. Reverend Father John P. Seabold, pastor will officiate.
