Eliza C. Fields, (nee-Stone), 92, of Elyria passed away Wednesday March 16, 2016 at her home following a brief illness. She was born February 8, 1924 in Crossville, TN. And was a longtime Elyria resident. She was a beloved housekeeper for many local families, a charter member of the Lorain Church of Christ, an avid gardener and enjoyed preparing Sunday family dinners. Survivors include her daughters, Evelyn Gill, (David, deceased), Wanda (Olvin) Johnson and Karen (David) Moore; sons, James (Diane) Fields and John (Debbie) Fields; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren;5 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Selby and Marie Fields. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1998, parents, James and Millie Stone, sisters, Mary Lou Woody, Lela Hedgecoth, Carrie Burgess, Vinnie Stone and Hazel Stone, brothers, Harmon, Virgil, Eston, William, Wesley and Leslie Stone. The family will receive friends Friday (today) 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Lorain Church of Christ 5075 Toledo Rd., Lorain. Services will be Saturday March 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Evangelist Bob Eddy will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the church.
