Eleanor M. Kaminski, (nee-Malinowski), 85, of Elyria was taken home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday December 11, 2011 surrounded by her loving family following a unexpected illness. She was born August 1, 1926 in Lorain to the late Alex and Mary (nee-Goroncy) Malinowski. A resident of Elyria for most of her life, Eleanor was employed as a assembler at the R.W. Beckett Co. in North Ridgeville for 15 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the Cleveland Polka Assc. And the United States Polka Assc., and was a former member of the PLAV Drill Team in Lorain. She was also a lifetime member and past officer of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elyria United Polish Club where she was named Mother of the Year in 1994. Eleanor was a member of the former Holy Cross Catholic Church in Elyria and was a current member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Elyria. Eleanor's family was her pride and joy and is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Steve and their children, Debbie and Bob DeMaria and Chris and Dave Kish; grandchildren, Dominic, Anthony, Casen DeMaria and Victoria Kish; siblings, Irene Krolik of Whitehouse, OH., Helen Kimmel of Avon Lake, Mary Ann and Jerry Socha of Lorain, Dolly Kaminski of LaGrange, Joe and Pam Kaminski of Vermilion and Dorothy and Bill Wladecki of Venice, FL., as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Steve and Pauline Kaminski, siblings, Casey and Georgia Malinowski, Jack Kaminski, Joe Krolik and Al Kimmel. The family will receive friends on Thursday December 22, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria. The Rev. Albert Veigas, pastor, will be the Celebrant. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
