Eldred E. "Ewing" Kaiser, 88, of Elyria passed away Wednesday May 6, 2020 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a long illness. He was born November 16, 1931 in Shadyside, PA. and was a Elyria resident for most of his life. Ewing worked at the General Motors Company in Parma as a crane operator for many years, retiring in 1988. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a life member of V.F.W. Post 1079, and enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family at his beautiful home. Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Leona "Lee" (nee-Kristy); step-daughter, Kristy Laubenthal; step-son, Jason Wnek; 3 step-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; sisters, Eleanor Joseph, Pearl Kiefer, Jo Ann Intorre, Susie Skoda, Marge Coddington, and Ethel Cunningham; brother, Jack Kaiser. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Hughes, Marie Myers and Ruth Ann Riba, brothers, Charles and John Kaiser and beloved canine companion, Sadie. Private graveside services will be held at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township. The Rev. Chuck Behrens, Chaplain of Hospice of the Western Reserve will Officiate. The family would like to thank the staff at O'Neill Healthcare for the special care shown to Ewing.
