Our son Edward Anthony Pilan,60, of Elyria passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at University Hospital Elyria Medical Center. He was born December 30, 1960 at Lutheran Hospital in Cleveland. He lived in Cleveland until the 5th grade, then he moved to N. Ridgeville where he graduated in 1978 from N. Ridgeville High School. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force. He worked at Rhenium Alloys after school and holidays before joining the Air Force. Upon returning home he went back to Rhenium Alloys and worked for another 25 years. Due to medical problems his work time was cut short. He made his home in Elyria after the Air Force and there made many friends. Some were neighbors, some were friends at LCC workout room where he loved working out, others at his work place and the bowling alley, where he enjoyed bowling. Edward enjoyed watching all sports especially the CAVS. No one was a more unassuming, loving, caring soul who would always be willing to help you in your time of need. Since his passing so many people have told me what a loving, kind, caring person he was. I truly thank you all for your kind words. He leaves behind to love and miss him, his parents Ed and Carol Pilan; brother, Chris (Jeanette); sister Melissa Halloran; niece Ellie Halloran; nephews Nick and Mitch Pilan. Family will receive friends 4 PM until time of service at 7PM Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626. Per CDC guidelines social distancing will be observed. MASKS ARE REQUIRED. Rev Young will officiate. Burial Private.
