Edward "Pinky" Jalowiec Sr., 94, of Elyria passed away Thursday May 5, 2011 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born January 26, 1917 in Massachusetts and was a Elyria resident for most of his life. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Elyria. Pinky was one of the co-founders and co-owners of Brentwood Golf Club in Grafton and also worked at LaGrange Screw Products for many years, retiring as a forman in 1981. He enjoyed pigeon racing and golfing. Survivors include his daughter, Sheryl (Dexter) Burgess of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Helen Zahorak of Lorain; brothers, Bernie Jalowiec of Lorain and Roman Jalowiec of North Ridgeville. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen (nee-Engler), sons, Edward Jr. and Neil, and brothers, Walter, Henry "Hank", and Stanley Jalowiec. The family will receive friends Monday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 322-4626. Closing prayers will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Jude Church 590 Poplar St., Elyria. The Rev. Frank P.
