Edward E. "Eddie" Horvath, 46, of Grafton passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 25, 2018 at U.H. Elyria Medical Center. He was born December 12, 1971 in Elyria and was a lifelong LaGrange/Grafton resident. Eddie was employed as a mechanic for R&L Trucking in Norwalk and was a 1991 graduate of Keystone High School and the Lorain County Joint Vocational School. He loved going to the truck pulls and participating at the Lorain County Fair for more than 25 years and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, spending time outdoors and also spending time with his family and friends and especially hunting with his late father. Survivors include his fiance' and the Love of his life, Shelly Gierhardt; mother, Sue Horvath-Brasee; step-father, Jerry Brasee; step-daughters, Kelsi (Dean) Funk and Kaylee (Bret) Brightbill; step-son, Korbin Gierhardt; step-grandchildren, Karsyn, Addilinn, Emerie and Bryleigh; sister-in-law, Diana Horvath; nephew, Spencer Horvath. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward P. Horvath and a brother, David Horvath. The family will receive friends Wednesday August 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of PRIVATE family services at 7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria. Pastor Tom Keller will Officiate. Private burial will be at River Road Cemetery, LaGrange Township. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the family.
