Edward J. Beiser 93, formerly of Elyria passed away Wednesday February 17, 2016 at Sunrise Assisted Living Center in Mission Viejo, CA. following a short illness. Edward was born June 28, 1922 in Cleveland, OH. He served in France, England and Germany with the U.S. Army during World War II. Edward retired from Shelby Paper Box as a foreman after thirty three years. Edward treasured spending time with his family and always put them first in his life. He was a Past Master with the Masonic Lodge, and a member of American Legion Post #12. Edward was a Boy Scout Leader, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Survivors include a daughter; Mariann B. Keenan (Robert) of Mission Viejo, CA, a son; Gary J. Beiser (Judy) of North Olmsted, OH. Additional survivors include; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his wife of seventy one years; Edna C. Beiser (nee: Seger), a daughter; Linda L. Beiser, a son; Steven (Joyce), his parents; Adolph and Mary (nee: Brinza) Beiser, his sister; Rose Cornell and a brother; Carl. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday April 1, 2016 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where a Celebration of Edward's Life will be at 11:00 AM immediately following visitation. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland, OH.
