Edward Lawrence Adams, 74, of Elyria passed away on January 17, 2020 peacefully at his home after a short illness. He was born April 11, 1945 in Wilcoe, WV. And raised in West Virginia. He proudly served his Country in the Army during the Vietnam war , where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska and White Sands, New Mexico. He moved to Ohio where he married and had three daughters. Edward retired from Ford after working there for 30 plus years. He spent his time in retirement drinking coffee with friends, relaxing on his front porch, and spending time with his kids, grandkids, and his great grandchild. Survivors include his daughters Judy (Marty) Cummings, Sharon Hill, Rebecca (John) Sherrard; brother Joe Adams; sister Mary Harris; 8 grandchildren and 1great grandchild; former wife Judith Adams (nee Reynolds). He was preceded in death by his parents John and Julia Adams (nee Mercs); sisters Juanita Phillips, Julie Stroupe, Margaret Langford, Elizabeth Mate, Dorothy Adams; brother Jack Adams. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday, January 23, 2020 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57), Elyria 440-322-4626, where funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, January 24, 2020. Burial Resthaven Memory Gardens (Avon).
