Edith Elizabeth Dohanos (nee Balazsy) 89 of Elyria passed away Tuesday October 6, 2015 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born January 24, 1926 in Lorain and was a lifelong Elyria area resident. Edith was a Cafeteria Employee for the Elyria Public School Systems for 19 years. She was a member of the Lorain Hungarian Reformed Church , and she enjoyed gardening , traveling , playing cards with friends and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her daughters Donna (John) Whiteside of Malvern , Pa. , and Lori Llewellyn of Elyria , sons Dennis (Susan) Dohanos of San Antonio , Tx., Darryl Dohanos (Susie, companion) , 8 grandchildren , 8 great-grandchildren , sister Dolly (William-deceased) Northam of Elyria. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1983 , brother Elmer Balazsy , Family will receive friends 3-6 PM Friday October 9, 2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
