Edgar John VanHoose Jr.

Edgar J. VanHoose Jr., 72, of Elyria passed away Saturday June 20, 2026 at U.H. Elyria Medical Center.

He was born February 28, 1954 in Lorain.

Edgar worked as a welder at the American Shipyards and Wateredge Uniflex and once worked as a supervisor at Elyria Springs Manufacturing. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Korrinda “Kory” Kay (nee-Matovich); daughters, Tamara and Serena; daughter-in-law, Krystal (Mike) Roessing; sons, Edgar (Lori), Thomas , and Mathew (Nikki); grandchildren, Aubrey Pall, Ethan VanHoose, Payton VanHoose, Ariella VanHoose, Jensen VanHoose, Kahmya Campbell, Beckland VanHoose, and Rudiger VanHoose; sisters, Magaret (Charles) Nutt and Linda (Jerry) Martin and a brother, Robert (Marie) VanHoose.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Sr. and Marie (nee-DeChant) VanHoose, sisters, Shirley Hall, Donna Gunnoe, Kathleen Rutledge, and brothers, James and Donald VanHoose.

All services are private.
