Earl Jolley, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died peacefully at home on Christmas morning surrounded by friends and family. He was born in Elyria April 20, 1943 and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County. After graduating college, Earl worked at E. M. Service, a family business established by his grandfather in 1918, before retiring in 2013. He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing the banjo, reading, and amateur radio, often combining these activities with camping. One of his favorite pastimes was bringing live bluegrass music to local nursing homes playing with the West Virginia Cut-ups. By God's grace he was saved through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, serving as Trustee, Sunday school teacher, and Awana leader. He is survived by his wife Janis of 54 years, sons Jared (Cristina), David (Lisa) and daughter Lauren (Jason), sisters Cheryl (Michael), and Diane (Robert), as well as six grandsons. He was preceded in death by a sister Karen and a brother Ronald. Friends and relatives will be received Tuesday January 2, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the Abbe Road Baptist Church 670 North Abbe Rd., Elyria. Pastor Cal Searles and Pastor Matt McAlevy will Officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Animal Protective League 8303 North Murray Ridge Rd., Elyria, OH. 44035.Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria.
