E. Alice Given, (nee-Vanover), 87, of Elyria passed away Sunday July 27, 2014 at the Center Ridge Health Campus in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born June 20, 1927 in Terryville, KY. And was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Alice worked as a lab technician at Gilford/Corning Labratories in Oberlin for 27 years, retiring in 1990. She was a lifetime member of the former Spring Valley Grace Brethren Church in Elyria and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughters, Linda (Charles) Lynch of Glenburnie, MD. And Wenday (Bruno) Kudrecki of Santa Fe Springs, CA.; sons, Gilbert L. Given JR. (Judy) of Nashville, TN., F. Scott Given (Jedonne) of Cottontown, TN., and Robert A. Given (Cathy) of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert L. "Bob" Given in 2006, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. The family will receive friends Wednesday 4:00-7:00 p.m,. at the Laubebnthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Services will be Thursday July 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Jeff Brown will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
