Obituary

Douglas Allan Troutman, 88, of Norwalk, formerly of Elyria, passed away at Amherst Manor, after a brief illness. He was born November 25, 1931, in Norwalk and was a graduate of Wakeman High School. Doug worked for Bendix as a machinist. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. A lifelong classic car and motorcycle enthusiast, Doug enjoyed leatherworking, hunting, and golfing. He was a member of American Legion post # 41, VFW post # 1079, Lorain County Scottish Rite, Elyria Masonic Lodge # 787, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Wakeman. Survivors include his daughters Becky Troutman of Lorain and Jennifer (Joe) Stratakis of Pittsburgh, PA.; cousin Delores Bius of Chicago, IL, and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence (Red) and Hilda Troutman (nee Anderson). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to VFW post #1079, 500 S. Abbe Rd. Elyria, OH. 44035. Burial will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Elyria, 440-322-4626.
