Dorothy May Schumacher (nee: Boisjolie) 90, of Elyria passed away Tuesday December 6, 2016 at Wesleyan Village in Elyria following a brief illness. She was born November 13, 1926 in Holyoke, MA. Dorothy served as a Dental Technician in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. She retired from Oakwood School as a cashier following eighteen years of service. Dorothy was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband of sixty one years; Jack K., two daughters; Cathy A. Schumacher of Las Vegas, NV, Kelly F. Kenbruck (Ken) of Elyria, a son; Craig Schumacher (Melissa) of Mesa, AZ. Additional survivors include six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister; Barbara Gaunghn of MA, and three brothers; Ed (Bea), Francis both of MA, and Jim of NY. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; Aldorf and Doris (nee: Hamel) Boisjolie, and a sister; Millie. Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Friday December 9, 2016 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until time of services at 1:00 PM. Reverend Father Albert Veigas, Pastor of St. Agnes Church will officiate. V.F.W. Post #1079 will provide full military honors at the funeral home.
