Dorothy B. Hotow (nee: Burch) 102, of Elyria passed away Tuesday February 7, 2017 at Wesleyan Village. She was born May 22, 1914 in Hastings, PA. Dorothy had worked as a waitress at Grassie's Restaurant in Elyria. She was a member of Elyria Moose Lodge, Elyria United Polish Club Auxiliary; her favorite places were The Carlisle Cafe, Lowell Street Cafe where she celebrated her 100th birthday. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, and golf. Survivors include a brother; Tom Burch of Michigan, several nieces and nephews, her dear friend and caregiver; Helen Weimer of Elyria, Jay and Debbie her friend and maintenance man. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; Leonard C., four sisters; Margaret Williams, Helen Schrom, Marie Sullivan, Bernadine Kubic, five brothers; Ronald, Bernard, Steve, James, and Albert Burch. Friends may call 1-4 PM Sunday February 12, 2017 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt.. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Monday February 13, 2017. The Reverend John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Grafton will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Dorothy asked that everyone at Wesleyan Village be thanked for the love and kindness extended to her, and to all her neighbors who looked in on her over the years.
