Dorothy Hill (nee: Galinsky) 93, of Oberlin passed away on December 25, 2025 from a chronic illness surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Oberlin to Joseph and Mary Galinsky on April 9, 1932. Dorothy graduated from Oberlin High School and Ohio Business College; she spent a few years working for General Motors. Homemaking, gardening, and entertaining were the joys of her life, as she made her home warm and inviting to all who entered. Darrel Hill 95, of Oberlin passed away peacefully in his home on March 17, 2026 following a short illness. He was born in Gassaway, West Virginia to Lois and William Hill. He was raised by Halsey and William after Lois’ passing when Darrel was just three years old. Darrel spent his career working for Bendix where he enjoyed an early retirement. He then spent his days running his dump truck, farming, doing yardwork with Dorothy and raising their daughters together. Their favorite past times included tending their “little slice of heaven”, hosting the neighborhood “coffee clutch”, and enjoying their grandchildren. Darrel and Dorothy were preceded in death by their parents, and daughter Diane. They are survived by their daughters; Lori Pisanelli (Michael), Patty Holcomb (Jeffrey), Karen Horwedel, their grandchildren; Lucas, Madeline, Seth, Samuel, Sophia, Clara, and Cole, two great grandchildren; Cohen and Jackson. The family will be hosting a celebration of their lives on July 26, 2026 at the Penfield Township Hall.
