Dorothy “Dottie” Ann Robson

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Dottie A. Robson, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with illness that began in March. Through it all, she faced each day with the same quiet strength, grace, and determination that defined her life.

Born on November 8, 1946, Dottie was raised in Elyria and spent her life in the Elyria and LaGrange communities. She graduated from Elyria High School before earning her nursing degree from Maumee Valley Hospital School of Nursing, beginning a career that would touch countless lives.

On July 19, 1969, Dottie married the love of her life, William E. Robson. Together they shared many wonderful years, building a family rooted in love, faith, compassion, and unwavering support for one another.

Dottie dedicated 44 years to caring for children as a pediatric nurse at Elyria Memorial Hospital. Nursing was far more than a career—it was her calling. Patients, families, and coworkers knew her as someone who treated everyone with kindness, patience, and genuine compassion. She retired in 2015, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service and care.

While Dottie was deeply proud of her nursing career, nothing meant more to her than being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she never missed an opportunity to encourage them, celebrate their accomplishments, or simply enjoy time together.

Dottie found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved starting each morning exercising in the pool with her dear friends, getting lost in a good book, and baking alongside her sister. Family gatherings were made even more special by her homemade cream cheese rolls, a favorite that everyone looked forward to. She also had a lifelong love for cats. Her faithful companions, Valentina and Oreo ("Ziggy"), brought her comfort and companionship through the years.

A faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Grafton, Dottie's faith guided her throughout her life and provided strength during her final months. She formed many cherished friendships through her church community that remained a meaningful part of her life. Dottie lived her faith each day leaving a lasting impression on all who were blessed to know her.

A year ago, Dottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William E. Robson; her parents, Thurlow and Evelyn Knepper; and her parents-in-law, George and Genevieve Robson.

She is lovingly survived by her son, William A. Robson; her daughters, Josette Robson and Heather Robson; her daughters-in-law, Kristina Robson and Angie Lehmkuhle; her cherished grandchildren, Aleaha, Emma, Kaydence, and Andrew; her sister, Shirley Honoshofsky and husband Robert; her brothers, Thomas Knepper and wife Patty, and Larry Knepper and wife Becky; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, former coworkers, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Dottie's kindness was evident in everything she did. She cared deeply for others, always putting their needs before her own. Whether she was comforting a frightened child at the hospital, helping a neighbor, sharing laughter with friends at the pool, or surrounding her family with unconditional love, she made everyone around her feel valued and cared for.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Dottie has been reunited with her beloved and those who went before her. Her legacy of compassion, faith, generosity, quick wit, and unconditional love will continue to live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Dottie's life will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church at 708 Erie St., Grafton, Oh on Friday, August 14, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

Family and friends are also invited to celebrate Dottie's life on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the LaGrange Lions Club 240 Glendale St. LaGrange, Oh, where memories, stories, and fellowship will honor a life so beautifully lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the animal rescue or pet organization of your choice in Dottie's memory.
