Obituary

Doris Mae MacMath (nee: Walker) 95 of North Ridgeville (formerly of Elyria) went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 15, 2020 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. She was born December 4, 1924 in Avon Lake. Doris had worked at J.C. Penney, Sears and Roebuck. She was a member of Church of The Open Door where she was active in the youth group with her husband; Thomas, and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Doris sang in the choir, was a member of The Sunshine Senior Core group. She loved to bake, cook, and spend time with family and friends, sewing and crafting. Survivors include a son; Terry MacMath (Karen) of Grafton, a daughter; Debra Flye (Pete) of Pensacola, FL., additional survivors include seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, her parents; Alvin and Mae (nee: DeRussey) Walker, brothers; Lee, Maynard, Joe, Kenneth, Bud, Gerald, George, and four sisters; Thelma, Beatrice, Virginia, Jane. A Celebration of Doris' life will be held at a later date, inurnment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Elyria (440)322-4626.
