Doris M. Dodrill, (nee-Clawson), 85, of Elyria passed away Friday February 7, 2014 at University Hospitals of Elyria following a brief illness. She was born April 1, 1928 in Latrobe, PA. and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Doris worked at the Ridge Tool Company as a inside sales associate for 37 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church where she was a member of the Sarah Circle and participated in both the vocal choir and the bell choir. She was also a member of the Elyria Women's Senior Fellowship and volunteered at EMH Medical Center for many years. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Shafer (Jay Cox) of LaGrange and grandchildren Megan Shafer an d David Shafer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil "Willie" Dodrill in 1988. The family will receive friends on Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Janet Long, Pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church will Officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
