Doreen J. Fesler, (nee-Rosenthal), 87, of Elyria passed away Wednesday February 5, 2014 at the LifeCare Center of Elyria following a long illness. She was born July 14, 1926 in Elyria and was a Elyria resident for most of her life. Doreen worked for the Elyria Board of Education as a secretary to the Superintendent for many years. She was a avid Cleveland Indians Baseball fan, and enjoyed bowling, working crossword puzzles, knitting and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Timothy) Court of Columbus; sons, Ken (Heather) Fesler of Grafton and Scott Fesler of Elyria; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; half-sisters, Arline Myers of Henderson, NV. And Patricia Wilson of Elyria. She was preceded in death by a half-sister, Ardell Olsen and a step-sister, Audrey Goldsmith. The family will receive friends Friday (Today) 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be at Ridgehill Memorial Park, Amherst Twp..
