Donna L. Smith (nee Miller) 84 of Grafton passed away Sunday December 27, 2015 at St. Mary of the Woods in Avon following a lengthy illness. She was born in July 30, 1931 in Elyria , she lived most of her life in Grafton. She worked in the offices of Ridge Tool Company in Elyria before her marriage to Eugene J. Smith in 1955. She was always an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace (formerly Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church in Grafton. Donna was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society , a former CCD teacher , head sacristan and auxillary organist. Donna and her husband Gene also founded the OLQP Helping Hands Food Pantry. She was a member of Elyria Study Club #17 and Elyria CRHP Bible Study Group, and enjoyed music and travel. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter Julianne M. (Steve) Stumphauzer of Vermilion , sons Daniel E. Smith of Cleveland , Bernard A. (Patty) Smith of Akron , Christopher F. (Julie) Smith of North Ridgeville , Vernon R. (Thom Krupa) Smith of Silver Spring, Md. , Leonard W. (Ray Dandera) Smith of Columbus , 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren , and brother Gregory C. (Barbara) Miller of Grafton. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene J. Smith in 2013 , parents Calvin C. and Eula (nee Alten) Miller , and brothers Ronald Miller in infancy , Jason J. Miller in 1988 and Bernard Miller in 2005. Family will receive friends 9-11 AM Saturday January 2, 2016 in the Gathering Space of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 708 Erie St. Grafton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Rev. Fr. John Seabold will be the Celebrant. Interment St. Mary Cemetery (Avon). In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Our Lady Queen of Peace Building Fund or Our Lady Queen of Peace Helping Hands Food Pantry.
