Donna J. McLaughlin (née Marks), 81, of Elyria, died Thursday, March 20, 2025 surrounded by her family at home. She was born November 10, 1943 in Portsmouth, Virginia and was a 1961 graduate of Avon High School.

Donna was employed by Elyria City Schools as a secretary for many years, and then ended her career working as an EMIS Coordinator, retiring June 30, 2008. She enjoyed reading and loved eating chocolates.

Donna is survived by her children Debbie (Scott) Dunlap, Amy (Bill) Newton, Melanie McLaughlin and Eric McLaughlin. Her grandchildren, Catrina (Brandon), Courtney, Kara (Rob), Katy, Tyler, Emma, Alyssa, Savannah, Isabella, and Gavin. Ten great-grandchildren, Chloe, Bregan, Olivia, Ethan, Amelia, James, Owen, Wyatt, Waylon, and Willow.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim, and her parents, Roland Marks and Georgia Hrascs.

Friends will be received Monday March 24, 2025 from 5-7pm at Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road, Elyria (440)322-4626. The funeral service will be Tuesday March 25, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home, with the burial to follow at Brookdale Cemetery.
