Donald Paul Hutman, 87, lifelong resident of Elyria passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Wesleyan Village following a brief illness. Donald was a graduate of Elyria Catholic High School. He worked in Elyria at Concrete Masonry for 28 years, Valley City Builders Supply for 18 years. Donald enjoyed camping, walking at the Mall, concerts in the local parks, suppers at the VFW. He was a lifelong member of St. Agnes Church, Elyria. Don worked on improvement projects in the church and the basement as well as the church grounds. He was also a hard worker for the church fundraisers and dinners. He worked on the bereavement meal committee, as well as a member of the Senior Fellowship Club. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Helen (nee Haas); sons, Richard (Vicki Crace), Kenneth (Claire Cote), Michael ( Florence Guthrie),of Nova, OH and daughter, Alicia Copeland (Jermaine) of Norfolk, VA.; grandchildren, Jessie, Jon, Rachael (Shawn), Andrew,, Christina (James), Aaron; great grandchildren, Rayne, Ryker, and Leeland; brother, Robert Hutman (Jean Szabo). He was preceded in death by his parents John and Cecelia Hutman (nee Zacharasz) and an infant brother, Richard L. Hutman. Family will receive friends 10AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at St. Agnes Church 611 Lake Ave. Elyria, OH 44035. Rev. Fr. Charles Ryba will be the Celebrant. Following Mass a luncheon will be in the church hall.
