Donald L. Hicks, 84, of LaGrange passed away Monday July 11, 2022 following a long illness. Don was a dedicated worker for the Ford Motor Company for 47 years, retiring in 2006. He loved going to family reunions and was an avid sports fan. In his younger years, Don was an excellent bowler and enjoyed golfing. In his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed taking bus trips, cruises, and getting together with friends. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (nee-Lacko); son, Tim (Jennifer) Hicks of Nazareth, PA; daughter-in-law, Mary Hicks; brothers, Bill (Deb) Hicks and Larry (Kathy) Hicks; sisters, Elaine Hall and Laura (Todd) Post; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie (Fraley) Hicks and Harry Hicks, son, Robert Hicks, brothers, Dan, Robert and Charles and a sister, Elnora. The family will receive friends for a memorial visitation on Tuesday July 19, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m.. Graveside services will be Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 11 a.m.at River Road Cemetery, Indian Hollow Road, LaGrange. (meet at cemetery).
