Donald Edwin Forbush, age 88 passed away peacefully on July 3rd, 2023 with his loving family by his side.

Don was born April 27th, 1935 to Norman and Mary Forbush (nee Sigsbey). He was the oldest of 4 brothers, Wayne Forbush, Robert Forbush (dec.) and Richard Forbush (dec.).

Don was a graduate of Elyria High School, and attended Bowling Green State University where he was a proud member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Don was a skilled interior carpenter until age 70, building his family home in Elyria by hand. He loved doing crossword puzzles, reading, playing cards, golfing, bowling, traveling to the beach, and most of all gardening and doing lawn work.

He was a devoted member of the Lorain Hungarian Reformed Church, where he was baptized and where he married his best friend, partner, and love of his life, Patricia Ann Forbush (nee Rusin, m. 9/22/1956). This year would be celebrating 67 years of a super marriage filled with much love and laughter.

During his tenure at the church, Don served as General Chairman, consistory member, and part of the Kitchen Krew.  And he loved every moment of it.

Don was blessed to be the loving father of Donald Scott Forbush (Kristina Francisco), and Dean Russel Forbush (Patti Forbush, nee Baluh. Both dec.). He was also the adoring Popo of Donald Joseph Forbush (Cara Ficocelli) and Amelia Megan Forbush (George K. Irish III). He loved his grandchildren more than anything, attending every single dance recital, sporting event, concert, theater show, and any other activities that he could. He was always incredibly proud of his family and all of their accomplishments. And he loved them so, so much.

Throughout his life Don maintained a firm love and belief in God and his myriad of blessings. He was dedicated to living his life with gentleness and love to all those he came across.

A brief visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday 7/11, followed by an overnight vigil by the church elders. Visiting hours will resume from 10a-11a on Wednesday 7/12, immediately followed by a memorial service.

All visitations and services will be held at the Lorain Hungarian Reformed Church located at 1691 E 31st street, Lorain Ohio, 44055.

In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully asks for donations to be made to the Lorain Hungarian Reformed Church in Don's name.
