Don E. Rader, 81, of Grafton passed away Friday April 6, 2012 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born July 26, 1930 in Grafton and was a lifelong Grafton resident. Don worked as a mechanic at Moen Inc. in Elyria for 20 years, retiring in 1992. Prior to that he worked as a mechanic at Spitzer Motors in Grafton for many years. He was a member of the Midview Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Lila (nee-Ade); daughters, Carolyn (Benny) Hale of Crossville, TN., and Penny (Terry) Miller of Grafton; sons, Larry (Pam) Rader of Wellington and Donny (Michelle) Rader of Grafton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Dorothy Price of Grafton; brothers, Walter and Robert Rader both of Grafton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Starr Lynn Rader in 1949, great-grandson, Kyler, sisters, Alice Bailey, Eva Herwig and Florence Buckingham and brothers, Russell, Virgil and Clyde Rader. The family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. 440-322-4626.
