Celebration of Life
Donald A. Schuster's Greenhouse
Starts at 1:00 pm (Eastern time)
Diane Strebel (née Schuster), 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026, after a lengthy illness. She was born on July 14, 1950, in Elyria, to Donald and Charlotte (née Franks) Schuster.
A proud 1968 graduate of Elyria High School, Diane built a life rooted in hard work and devotion to her family. She retired from Invacare in Elyria and previously worked at Worthington Ball and the family-owned greenhouse. Diane was known by coworkers and friends alike as a dedicated employee, dependable, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand.
Diane found joy in tending her yard and caring for her home, but her true passion was her family. She deeply loved her parents and siblings and cherished the time spent together. Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother aka "Memaw" and "GG-ma." The memories she created with her grandchildren are priceless-she delighted in laughing with them, playing with them, and never feeling the need to "act her age."
As a mother, Diane embodied unconditional love. She was endlessly proud of her sons—often referring to them affectionately as "my three boys." Her love surrounded her family in every moment, and her presence brought warmth, comfort, and strength. She will be profoundly missed.
Diane is survived by her loving sons, Todd Strebel (Kelly), Travis Strebel, and Toby Strebel (Autumn); her sisters, Pat Schuster, Rose Howington (Chuck), and Phyllis Andrusyszyn (Tony); her twin brother, Don Schuster (Joyce); and her brothers, Ed Schuster (Linda), Steven Schuster, and Chuck Schuster (Ella).
She was a cherished grandmother to Audrey Baumer (Jason), Lauren Bashham(Trevor), Meghan Knittle (Brad), Tyler Strebel, Tanner Strebel, Corinne Strebel, and Trenton Strebel, and a proud "GG-ma" to Wyatt, Mason, and Brenton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Dryden and Barb Faith (Doug).
The family will hold a celebration of life at Donald A. Schuster's Greenhouse on March 8th at 1 pm. It was a place she loved dearly and one that reflects the beauty and care she brought to the world. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Power-4-Pink and/or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements entrusted to Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home in Elyria.
