Dennis Zayatz 61 of Elyria passed away due to injuries from a motorcycle accident. Dennis worked for U.S. Steel in the Control Room. He was born September 26, 1954 in Amherst and was a 1972 graduate of Elyria High School and proudly served his Country in the Army . Dennis enjoyed sitting in the sunshine , flying , riding his motorcycle, playing guitar and traveling. Survivors include his mother Jane Gottwald , 2 sisters Linda ( Daryl) Woods , and Diane Norman both of Elyria , significant other Jennifer Penfound , and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Zayatz. Family will receive friends 5-8 PM Thursday August 25, 2016 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at St. Rt. 57) , Elyria 440-322-4626 , where funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday. Rev. Dan Edgerly of Bay Presbyterian Church in Westlake will officiate. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery where full military honors will be provided by VFW post # 1079.
