Dennis W. Matovich Sr. 79 of Elyria passed away Saturday February 14, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born February 28, 1935 in Elyria. Dennis enjoyed Gardening, Barbecuing , Entertaining , Fishing and Playing the Organ. He was a member of Eagles Post #431 , Moose Lodge # 778 , NRA , and a lifetime member of Amvets post # 32. Dennis was also a Diesel Mechanic class # 30 , Engineer School Battalion June 1954 , Volunteer Fireman Elyria Township 1957-1959, Lorain County Engineer March 1966-September 1968 , and served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include daughters Korrinda Matovich of Elyria , Pamela Coleman of Buckhannon, West Virginia , Thresa Korbal of Ravenna , son Dennis W. Jr. (Mary) of Oberlin , grandchildren Krystal Buswell , Shannon Pritchard , Tamieka Unger , Chad Thomas , Jennifer Stamm , Cassandra Milsaps , 16 great-grandchildren , former wife Patricia Ann (nee Ritchey).He was preceded in death by his parents John Robert and Wilma Marie (nee Varga) , brothers Richard and Robert.
