Obituary

Deanna "Dede" Prunty (nee: Wilson), 82, of Grafton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 7, 2024 after a long illness. She was born in Elyria on July 17, 1941 to parents Warren and Martha (nee: Michaelson) Wilson. She was a 1959 graduate of Elyria High School and married her sweetheart, Billy Ray, on August 5, 1962. Earlier in life, Deanna worked as a telephone operator then later for Resar's Florist. She was a proud member of Al-Anon for over 50 years. She enjoyed making cakes, crafts, painting, playing cards and listening to music. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Survivors include her sons, Richard (Carrie), William (Cindy); daughter-in-law, Leah Prunty; grandchildren, Hayley, Evan, Hunter, Kristin, Katie, Josh, Lori; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2006; son John Prunty, sisters, Norma Haynes, Harriett Demyan, Rosalie Pluta, and Kathleen Wilson. A special thanks to the homecare nurses who helped keep her comfortable in her final days. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 26th at 11:00am at the North Eaton Christian Church 35895 Royalton Road Grafton, Ohio. Reverend David T. Chafin, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.laubenthalmercado.com.
