Dayton J. Duelley, 88, of Wellington passed away Thursday November 12, 2020 at U.H. Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born May 23, 1932 in Lockney, West Virginia. Dayton was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in the Army Engineer Corp.. After the war he moved his family to Northeast Ohio where he worked as a welder, plumber, carpenter, water plant supervisor and volunteer firefighter for the Village of LaGrange before retiring to Florida and then to Wellington. Dayton enjoyed gardening, travel and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a good man who will be missed by all who knew him. Dayton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Leanora (nee-Lane); sons, Donald (Nancy) Duelley and Roger Dean (Carol) Duelley; daughter, Barbara (Steve) Kubit. Suvivors also include seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, brother, Jerry (Sue) Duelley of LaGrange and sister, Joann (Melvin) Dobbins of Oberlin. He was preceded in death by his father, Jennings Duelley; mother and step-father, Cotha and Ray Cunninggham; brothers, Russel and Bernard; sisters, Mary (John) Snyder, Juanita Williams (Robert), Jean Blake (Jack) and AnnaLee Dobbins (Elvin. A private service for immediate family members was held at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
