Dawn E. Watt 54, of Elyria passed away Saturday September 20, 2014 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA and had been a resident of Elyria since infancy. Dawn had been employed at Moen Inc. for thirty five years. She was a 1977 graduate of Elyria West High School, and was a Charter Member of Elyria West Marching Band. Dawn was active in Thespians while in high school and was Thespian of the Year in her Senior year. She enjoyed camping, vacations in Myrtle Beach, visiting casinos, and her dog; Abby. Dawn was known and appreciated for her quick wit and off beat sense of humor. Survivors include her son; Robert C. McBride , her mother; Karen E. Watt, and a sister; Stephanie A. Watt all of Elyria, numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins, especially Jack Hill, Barbara Godfrey, Mary Laird, and friend; Michael Erdelyi of Cleveland. Dawn was preceded in death by her father; Robert S. Watt, grandparents; William and Gertie Hill, and James and Ellen Carnahan, and a nephew; Jordan C. Ault. As per Dawn's wishes, there will be no visitation, and funeral services will be private. A Celebration of her life will be in the near future.
