David L. Walker 77, 0f Elyria passed away Saturday July 6, 2013 at EMH Healthcare following a brief illness. He was born September 13, 1935 in Lorain and was a lifelong Elyria resident. Dave was the owner-operator of Real Cleaners in Elyria for many years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Elyria, the Elyria Elks Lodge #465, where he was a past Exalted Ruler and worked as club manager from 1989 until 1997. He was also a former co-owner of the Mardi Gras Lounge and Uncle Vic's Nightclub from 1976 until 1989. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Marlene (nee-Diederich); daughter, Rebecca (Scott) Hartwig of Elyria; sons, Timothy (Marcie) Walker of Myrtle Beach, SC., Jeffery (Carol) Walker, Michael (Gina) Walker, Jerry (Amy) Chizmar and Christopher Chizmar all of Elyria; 9 grandchildren; 1 newborn great-grandson, Slade (Thor) Wielinski; brother, Daniel (Annette) Walker of Glouchester, MA.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Erla "Honey" Walker, both in 1997. A Memorial Service, open to the public will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Elyria Elks Lodge 246 2nd St. Elyria. A additional Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church 114 Hope Ct., Elyria. Rev. Dean Davidson will Officiate. Private burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. Memorial contributions can be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to the Elyria Elks Lodge #465 Scholarship Fund.
