David L. Johnson, 82, passed away Sunday July 9, 2023 at Mercy Health Partners in Lorain. A Lorain County resident, he was employed as a welder at General Motors in Elyria and later transferred to Mansfield, retiring after 31 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, barbequing, and shooting pool. He also enjoyed watching Western and Lifetime movies and also Cleveland sports. Davis leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 37 years, Tommie Allgood-Johnson; a beautiful sister, Dorothy (Jim) Johnson; children, Lloyd Brownlee, Darlene Perry, Ava Clinkscale, Jana, Celeste, Yvonne (Pookie, and Jerome Watkins; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews whom he truly loved. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Johnson Sr., mother, Celia (Brown) Johnson and brother, Ernest (Ernie) Johnson Jr.. Homegoing Services will be Friday July 21, 2023 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church 2949 West River North, Elyria. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with services beginning at 12:00 p.m.. Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
