David J. Holland, 85, of Elyria passed away Monday December 14, 2015 at his home following a brief illness. He was born October 21, 1930 in Cleveland and was a Elyria resident for most of his life. Dave was employed at the former J.R. Dall Ford Dealership in Elyria for 42 years, retiring in 1994. He was a 46 year member of the Elyria Rotary Club, founding member of the Lorain County Banjo Band, founding member of the Northcoast Ohio Model T Ford Club and a member of the Lorain County Historical Society. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty (nee-Beal); daughters, Terry Holland and Jane Holland both of Elyria; sons, Randy (Jeanne) Holland of North Ridgeville and John Holland of Conway, SC.; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Patty Coughlan of LaGrange; brother, Robert Holland of Avon. He was preceded in death by grandsons, Scott and Tyler Holland, sister, Kathy Dangerfield, and brothers, Richard and John Holland. The family will receive friends Sunday December 20, 2015 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.
