Obituary

It is with great love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of David A. Ferry, who departed this life on October 18, 2025 at the age of 75.

Born on August 19, 1950, David lived a life marked by devotion to his country, and his family. A proud United States Marine, David honorably served his nation during the Vietnam War, carrying with him a lifelong respect for service, integrity, and camaraderie. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to community and public safety as a Lorain County Deputy Sheriff, where his strength and compassion left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.

Those who knew David will remember him as an avid storyteller of tales from a life well-lived. He found joy in barbecuing, gardening, coin collecting, camping, fishing and hunting. His love for music was expressed through his talent for playing the bass guitar, and his adventurous spirit was evident in his passion for traveling. David was constantly discovering new recipes for his smoker and was always eager to share his creations with family and friends. David's life was a testament to loyalty, curiosity, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

He is survived by his daughter, Andrea (Gordon) Arthur; brother, Thomas (Kathleen) Ferry; granddaughter, Jillian Ladd; sister-in-law Gail Ferry; brother-in-law Raymond Burbine and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Ferry; his parents, John and Gladys Ferry; siblings, Rita Rock, Richard Ferry, Roberta Burbine, and John Ferry.

Family will receive friends on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at State Route 57) in Elyria.
