David J. "Dave" Colegrove, 47, of Sullivan, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Dave was born on October 4, 1976 in Parma and graduated from Brunswick High School. He entered into the US Navy in 1995 where he proudly served his country. He had a deep love for his country, and his patriotism was known by many. Dave worked for Comfort Systems USA and Wellington Indoor Comfort. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles Post #2051, the American Legion Post #8. Dave was an avid deer hunter, enjoyed camping, and was very active with the Black River Fullbacker's Club. He was loved, respected, and will be missed by all who knew him.  Survivors include his beloved wife, Melissa (nee: Konicek); parents, Dave (Kathy) Colegrove; In-laws Marty (Michelle) Konicek; sons, Nathaniel, Matthew, Christian, and Brian Axford (who he considered a son); sister, Becky (Greg) Rooks; brother, Robert (Jennifer) Colegrove; grandson, Liam; and numerous nieces and cousins. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Wellington Eagle's Post #2051 631 S. Main Street Wellington, Ohio 44090. A private burial with full military honors will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Dave's name be sent to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or Black River Fullbackers.
