David L. "Blue" Bacskay 65 of Elyria passed away Sunday June 7, 2015 at St. John Westshore following complications from Surgery. He was born August 7, 1949 in Newark, Ohio. David was a pipefitter for Ford Motor Co. until his retirement. He was a graduate of Elyria High School. David was an avid competitive trap shooter , won several trap shooting trap competitions, bowled several 300 games, shot a hole in one at a local golf course , avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of local UAW 2000, lifetime member of NRA , he had a good reputation and was loved by all he encountered. Survivors include his son Douglas (Michele) of New Bern, N.C. , grandchildren Michael and Kayla brothers Jerry (Cheryl) and Jeff (Dana) both of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents Alexander and Margaret (nee Dill).Family will receive friends 4-7PM Wednesday June 10,2015 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
