David A. Blackburn  67, of Grafton passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday September 13, 2022. He was born November 14, 1954 in Columbus, Ohio.  David was a Midview High School graduate; and served in the United States Air Force.  He had worked as a Police Officer with The Elyria Police Department and Grafton Police Department. David became an Ohio licensed Funeral Director, and worked with the family business Blackburn Funeral Home retiring in 2013.  He was a diehard Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. David loved his dogs; Moose and Maxwell. He enjoyed hunting, feeding the birds and squirrels. Survivors include his loving wife of thirty two years; Elaine M. (nee: Henschel), daughters; Katrina (Steve), Kerrie, sons; Douglas and David Jr., and was grandfather of four.  David was preceded in death by his parents; Doyle and Lois (nee: Parrish) Blackburn. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday September 22, 2022 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church 708 Erie St.  Grafton, Ohio where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of Mass at 11:00 AM. The Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor will be the Celebrant. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township where V.F.W. Post # 1079 will provide full military honors.
