David J. Babcock, 67, of Elyria passed away Tuesday November 22, 2016 at UH Elyria Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born May 7, 1949 in Cleveland and was an Elyria resident for the past 14 years. David was employed by the Lorain County Board of Developemental Disabilities Department as a Behavioral Specialist for the past 43 years. His passion was playing golf and helping others. Survivors include his wife Gail (nee-Seeley); daughters, Stephanie (Richard) Nigro, Amanda (Jim) Sword and Kara Coleman; sons, Matt (Jenny) Babcock and Greg (Melissa) Babcock; 8 grandchildren; brothers, Jim and Gary Babcock. The family will receive friends Monday November 28, 2016 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria.
