Darrel A. Gumm, 44, of Elyria passed away Sunday July 23, 2017 at UH Elyria Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born April 6, 1973 in Elyria and was a lifelong Grafton area resident. Darrel worked as a Corrections Officer at the Lorain Correctional Facility in Grafton for the past 14 years. He was a 1991 Midview High School graduate and an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Gumm; sons, Brandon and Tyler Gumm; parents, Kenneth "Jerry" and Erma Gumm; brothers, Kenny and Mike Gumm. The family will receive friends 3:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 28, 2017 in the funeral home. The Rev. Joyce Burgess will Officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, Eaton Township.
