Darlene Mae Ashburn (nee: Bender), age 81, of Elyria, passed away on June 29, 2023 at her home after battling many illnesses. She was born on October 22, 1941 in Rixford, Pennsylvania to parents Oscar and Achsah (nee: VanTassel) Bender. She worked as an inspector for Parker Hannifin for 34 years until retiring in 2000. She enjoyed shopping, the Cleveland Indians, and Nascar. Darlene was a member of the Lorain County Pamona and North Eaton Grange where she served as secretary of both for many years. Those who knew her describe her as kind hearted, generous, and always willing to help. Survivors include her daughter Darla (Carlton Jr.) Revette, grandchildren Amber Ashburn, Carlton Revette III, great-grandchildren Katiemae Ashburn, Riley Revette and Hailey Lacko all of Elyria. Step-son David Ashburn of Rossville, GA. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Achsah Bender, her brother Oscar Bender Jr and her step-son Daniel Ashburn.
