Daniel M. "Dan" Wirth 63, of Elyria passed away Sunday December 31, 2017 at O'Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville following a brief illness. He was born December 16, 1954 in Elyria. Dan was a member of East Broad Street Church of Christ, and was Head Custodian at McKinley Elementary School where he loved his job, people and students that he came into contact with every day. He had been a steel worker for over thirty years, and owned Norm Wirth's Electric. Survivors include his wife of thirty four years; Diana Lee (nee: Norris), a daughter; Amy Lynn Foucher (Shawn) of Elyria, two sons; Ryan P. Wirth of Elyria, Steve Higgins (Danielle) of Wellington. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a brother; Norman Wirth (Rosemary) of Elyria. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; Norman G. and Chloe (nee: Marquis) Wirth. The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday January 4, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (40)322-4626 where funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Friday January 5, 2018. Pastor Harold Reddick will officiate.
