Daniel J. Hoover 64, of Elyria passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday May 23, 2024. He was born April 4, 1960 in Elyria where he was a lifelong resident.  Dan was a 1978 Elyria Catholic High School graduate. He retired from The City of Elyria following thirty years of service. Over the years, Dan was active at Norwalk Raceway Park, and was an avid NASCAR and Cleveland Browns fan.  Survivors include three brothers; Kevin Hoover (Patricia) of Tampa, FL., James Hoover (Cindi) of Elyria, Thomas Hoover (Lee Ann) of Elyria, numerous nieces and nephews, an aunt and uncle; Hube and Bettty Kline of Elyria, and his loyal companion; Stewart. Dan was preceded in death by his parents; Lawrence and Constance (nee: Kline) Hoover, and two brothers; Justin and Charles Hoover.  Private services will be held at a later date.
