Dale Allen Reed, 84, of Elyria passed away peacefullyTuesday, November 26, 2019 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born July 29, 1935 in Elyria and attended Elyria High School. Dale was employed by Ohio Edison as a lineman and crew leader for over 36 years. He was a member of Elyria Eagles # 431, United Polish Club, Sons of Amvets Post # 32, Oberlin VFW Post # 6273, Charter Member of the Rock-n- Roll Hall of Fame, 64 year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and Buckeye Sheriffs Association. Survivors include his daughters Carol (Phil) Baptiste and Renee (Robert) Zachea both of Elyria; grandchildren Alyssa (Doug) Riseborough, Ben (Rachel) Baptiste, Marley and Kellan Zachea; sister Karen (John) Stewart of Elyria; brother Gaylord (Teresa) Reed of Elyria.. He was preceded in death by his son, David Allen Reed; his parents Glayden and Dorothy Reed (nee Stage) and former wife Mary Ann Reed (nee Pluta) Family will receive friends from 10 AM until time of Celebration of Life at 11 AM Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Service 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
