Dale F. Kuzak Sr., 76, passed away Saturday February 18, 2023 following a brief illness at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1946 in Elyria to Dorothy (Glass) and Frank Kuzak Sr. He married his soulmate Barbara (nee-Summers) Kuzak on June 18, 1966, 56 ½ years of joyful marriage. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, Dale (Kim) Kuzak Jr. and Michael (Jenny) Kuzak; grandchildren, Rebecca (Dennis) Mudra, Morgan (Jared) Cottrill, and Hunter Kuzak; great-grandchildren, Fiona Mudra and Baby girl Cottrill; Step-grandchildren, Jessen Schaffer, Derek (Sara) Kuba, Danielle (Eddie) Saradakis, Bobby (Kelsey) Blackburn and Jen Blackburn. Step-great-grandchildren, Madilyn, Nina, and Olivia Saradakis, Harper Kuba, Luke and Lauren Blackburn and Maisley Blackburn; brothers, Herb Zielke and Frank Kuzak Jr.; sister, Marcia Woods; sisters-in-law, Patricia Freligh and Deanna Summers. Many nieces and nephews; best friends, Dave "Scooter" Sanders, Dave Sokol and Bob Casper. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Glass, step-father, Jack Glass, sisters, Yvonne Fisher and Patrice Pabon, brothers, Gary and Joe Kuzak, and mother-in-law, Marie Summers. Dale worked for many years as a roofer for Northern Ohio Roofing. He worked 31 ½ years for the City of Elyria Water Distribution, retiring in 2003. He was a Charter Captain for 20 years on the Barbie Doll. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of the Beaver Park Marina Yacht Club, Elyria Eagles Aerie 431, Amherst Eagles Aerie 1442 and lifetime member of both Elyria United Polish Club and Amherst VFW Post 1662. The family will receive friends on Friday February 24, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 p.m., where prayer services will be at 4:15 p.m. at the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd.
