Dale W. Handley 87, of Grafton passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday June 26, 2024 following a long illness. He was born June 12, 1937 in Elyria, and was a 1955 Elyria High School graduate.  Dale served with the U.S. Navy Reserve in the Sea Bees.  He was a lifelong carpenter, and retired in 2006 from the FAA as a construction superintendent. Dale also served on the Board of Appeals for Carlisle Township. He was a member of Cross Community Church in Elyria, and was a member of The Elyria Senior Fellowship Club. Survivors include his loving wife of sixty three years; Sandra A. (nee: Resar), three daughters; Susan R. DelCampo (the late Dennis), Laura J. Myers (Greg), Deborah L. Rader (Rob), a son; Jack Handley (Carla), additional survivors include; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and a brother; Gary Handley (Jackie). Dale was preceded in death by his parents; Forrest and Aletha (nee: Heidrich) Handley, a sister; Beverly Handley and a brother; Wayne Handley.  The family will receive friends from 1- 4 PM Sunday June 30, 2024 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. Elyria (440)322-4626.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday July 1, 2024 at Cross Community Church 525 Abbe Rd. Elyria where the family will also receive guests from 10:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM. Pastor Randall McKinney will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Elyria.  The family suggests that memorial contributions in Dale's memory be sent to Hospice of The Western Reserve 300 E. 185th St. Cleveland, OH 44026.
